STATEMENT

The sensory experience of being in the landscape is often the starting point for Vivienne’s paintings. She is interested in nature’s complex structures and the psychological space of bodies of water; in what is hidden and what lies below and on the surface. Her paintings emerge through a slow process of layering and exploration. Themes concern; the ephemeral in nature, the intangibility of reflected light and the entanglement of forms. The paintings exist in the space between figurative representation and a process driven, experimental abstraction

Vivienne has exhibited and attended residencies in both the UK and internationally in the USA (Art OMI New York), Armenia (Armenian Biennale), China, Portugal, France (Triangle Marseilles) and 2024 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

She has work in the RWA’s permanent collection.

Exhibitions in 2025 include; The Wales Contemporary Open, ‘Split’ Wrexham, Solo exhibition at Ruskin Mill Gallery, ‘Time to Time’ Peckham, London, and The Department Store Brixton, London.
