Jane Faram

In April 2015 Jane joined Spike Island as Communications Manager. Her role focuses upon shaping dynamic relationships between art, artists and audiences through the development and delivery of a communications strategy.

Jane graduated with a BA from University of Leeds in Contemporary Art Practice and English Literature (2008). She has volunteered with various arts organisations in Sheffield before taking the role of Gallery Assistant at Site Gallery in 2008. Additionally, she has worked at Museums Sheffield, Vincent Dance Theatre and Neon Workshops. She has also written reviews of exhibitions and theatre productions for independent magazines and online platforms including Our Favourite Places, Sheffield.

For seven years she worked at Site Gallery and progressed to the role of Public Programme and Gallery Manager through which she devised a programme of large and small-scale public events involving artists, academics, arts professionals and young people. She also planned marketing strategies with a digital focus, whilst managing the gallery's visitor services, volunteer programme and shop.
