Éilis Kirby

Éilis Kirby was born in Newport, Rhode Island and moved to the UK in 1988. She completed a BA in Fine Art at UWE in 1996 and an MA in Arts and Ecology at Dartington College of Arts in 2008. Kirby practices under the umbrella of EAK Enterprises, incorporating EAK Press. Her work utilises found objects, images and texts to make artists’ books, collages and installation, her books can be in several collections including Tate Modern and University College London. She has participated in international collaborative exhibitions, artists’ book fairs in the UK and abroad, and recently had a residency and show at Roaming ROOM in London. Her interest is in the material world and thinking through doing, and she is a keen proponent of making-do, experimenting and improvising, while exploring formal concerns, humour, absurdity and pathos. She also runs the odd workshop.
