Tales from the Diaspora — Why Are Rainbows Always Sad An Abridged History of Pretty Much Everything Ever, part III

 

Spike Island studio holder Anton Goldenstein presented an exhibition of work stemming from a diasporic family history. Goldenstein is interested in ‘what makes us who we are, where we are and what we are, in respect to all other animals, fish, insects, history, space the universe and everything’.

Test Space

Test Space is programmed by studio holders based at Spike Island and offers artists a chance to exhibit new works and test ideas. Artists from within the Spike Island community and beyond are included.

Anton Goldenstein

Anton Goldenstein (b. Johannesburg, South Africa, 1975) emigrated to Britain in 1986.

Goldenstein has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally. Previous exhibitions include the Bloomberg New Contemporaries and Oriel Mostyn Open. He has received grants from Arts Council England and the Welsh Arts Council and was shortlisted for the residency at the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

Alongside his individual fine art practice, Goldenstein works collaboratively on ceramic design and has also curated a number of shows both in Britain and Europe. He has been a member of art groups Chuck Norris and Plan 9.
