Participate in Rogue Game
Calling all sports enthusiasts! For three weeks this September, we will stage Rogue Game, a live exhibition that transports the architecture, tactics and actions of a multipurpose sports hall into Spike Island. This ongoing project by artist/architect collaboration Sophie Warren and Jonathan Mosley with Can Altay starts with a simple premise: the coloured lines of the courts are marked out in the gallery where three different games are played simultaneously in the same space.
We’re now looking for basketball, five-a-side football, volleyball and touch rugby players and teams of all skill levels to participate in the project. Rogue Game offers a new way of experiencing popular sports, challenging and heightening coordination, agility and negotiation skills. The overlapping of the games calls on players to rethink their moves and strategies in the face of ever-changing obstacles.
Slots are available for one or more of the following sessions:
- Friday 7 September, 7pm
- Saturday 8 September, 2pm
- Saturday 22 September, 2pm
- Saturday 29 September, 12.30pm
We’ll need you to arrive 45 minutes before the game starts, and each game will last between 40 minutes and an hour. Refreshments will be provided, and you’ll also receive a copy of your team photo.
We’re hosting an open evening on Wednesday 18 July at 6pm for potential players to find out more. Sophie Warren, Jonathan Mosley and our programme team will be on hand to answer questions and share documentation from previous sessions of Rogue Game.
For further information and to register your interest in the meantime, please get in touch.
Want to play but not part of a team? Let us know as we’re forming groups of interested participants.
